Santa Barbara’s Prohibition History & Hat Band Making Party
On Wednesday, November 30, Erin Graffy will give a presentation on Santa Barbara’s rich links to Prohibition, followed by a flapper hat-making demonstration and workshop in coordination with local art collaborative Fishbon.
Both FREE events take place at the Pescadrome at 101 S. Quarantina St in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone.
The evening starts at 7:30PM with a potluck buffet, followed by Ms. Graffy's presentation at 8:30PM.
First Thursday Protest Party
On the First Thursday in December, Dec. 1, look for a team of spirited enthusiasts in vintage garb and protests signs, reenacting the protests that brought an end to one of America’s most misguided adventures. The group will visit local galleries and cocktail bars spreading the word about the celebration the following Monday. If you’d like to join the fun, contact Joe Andrieu at joe@repealdaysb.com.
Early Dinner at Sly’s in Carpinteria
Joe and Ted will kick off the evening with an early dinner at the delightfully authentic Sly’s in Carpnteria, which is offering a special, Speakeasy menu to celebrate Repeal Day. The menu offers unique cocktails made in Sly's signature style: no mixers, fresh juices, hand shaken and stirred. The menu is only available on Repeal Day, December 5th, by request, and only in the lounge. As a special treat, those menu items are available all year if you bring it with you... and the items can't be ordered if you don't. It's a secret password so you can enjoy the Speakeasy celebration all year long.
The restaurant opens at 11:30AM. Lounge seating is first come first served. If you want to travel with us, we'll be starting around 3pm and returning on the 5:11 Pacific Surfliner, arriving in lovely Santa Barbara at 5:30 sharp. Fellow revelers are welcome to join us. The Main Event
Starting at 5:30pm we'll visit five great bars throughout the evening, each offering a signature classic cocktail.

You can pick up an offical Repeal Day Santa Barbara map at each bar and enjoy the evening on your own schedule. Revelers who try all five official cocktails will receive a free appetizer at the bar of their choice. See the tips page for details. For revelers in vintage 1920s and 1930s attire, The Marquee, Milk & Honey, Blush, and Wildcat offer half-price well drinks, and Soho offers happy hour food and cocktail prices.

Note on timing: Soho has a special evening with Cliff Eberhardt & James Lee Stanley performing live. The show starts at 7:30 with a $20 cover charge ($17 with dinner). We'll be visiting early in the evening, but all are welcome to stay and enjoy the show.

Washington, DC The DC Craft Bartender’s Guild hosts a vintage Ball Tickets start at $100 and include dinner and beverages. It’s the longest running and most respected repeal day event in the country.

Tampa, Florida The Left Coast Bar Guild hosts a Repeal Day Party at the Don Vicente Historic Inn in Ybor City. Celebrating the repeal of prohibition with food, music, entertainment, and drinks covering over 100 years of mixology from the 1850's onward, five different bars will create historic libations from pre-prohibition era cocktails in the basement to expatriate rum drinks on the rooftop. Entertainment will include burlesque performers and live jazz from the 20's-40's.

Park City, Utah High West Distillery & Saloon celebrates their history as the lynchpin 36th vote needed for ratifying the 21st amendment that repealed prohibition. The celebration includes Prohibition era live music, flapper dress and gangster garb, plus a limited release of High West’s newest whiskey.
San Francisco, California 21st Amendment will release a custom Repeal Day IPA and celebrate with swing music, picket signs, and vintage costumes. The brew will be sold at rolled back prices starting at 5PM with a speakeasy opening at 6PM, including charity poker and special Prohibition era cocktails.

Struthers, Ohio The Brotherhood of Appreciating Repeal Day hosts a Beer Tasting Benefit to support the Shenango River Watchers, in Struthers, Ohio.
